Allie crashed and burned!

While Eric and I were at the UT basketball game, Allie stayed with her good friend, Katie. They had big plans to sled and have lots of fun! Katie's mom said that we were not even out of their driveway when Allie crashed. She has a huge scrape on her chin. She was extremely cautious after that. She would sled, but not by herself. Allie does not want anyone to ask her about her chin! Which is kinda hard - since it has a HUGE mark on it! I am going to try and get a picture tomorrow if she will let me!

UT vs Florida basketball game

I had bought 4 basketball tickets to the UT/FL men's basketball game weeks ago. Corbin got asked by a friend to go - he jumped at the chance. I thought I would find and let Allie take a friend to the game. Since we had some snow, Allie and her friend wanted to stay and go sledding! Of course, we let her. So we ended up giving 2 tickets to my brother and his little boy. They enjoyed the game so much. UT won by 1 point! It was a great game!

Snow!

Yeah! We have snow! Lots of snow! Friday was our 2nd snow day - which has become highly unusual in Roane County. My mom called me around 10:00 Thursday night to tell me she had just heard Roane County was closed for Friday. I had just gotten my text alert confirming the news! I screamed, yelled, cheered - which Eric got peeped at me for. I just can't help it! As teachers, we are more excited than the kids when school is called off. Allie and Corbin were already asleep, so they join in my celebration.
We didn't official get any snow until Friday afternoon. But I woke up on Saturday morning to lots of snow! Allie and Corbin are so excited to get out there and play in it. Now, to find something to put them in! When we lived in Virginia, we had lots of snow. So we were prepared with snow boots and snow suits. Of well, they don't care what they have on - as long as they can throw snowballs at each other and me!

Birthday continued!

Corbin's 8th birthday party!

We had Corbin's birthday party today after church. We had reserved the church's gym. It was a blast and so easy. The boys played basketball, and the girls played with hula hoops. We had 17 kids and a lot of parents. Corbin got several Nerf guns. Watch out sissy and the cat! We had Holly Woodlee make his football cake. She did a great job! It was a cool cake that tasted yummy! I still can't believe he is 8 years old. Time goes by so fast! We are so proud of the little man that you have become. You still get all A's on your report card. You still have a great heart and never want to disappoint me or your dad. You are a wonderful big brother and a good role model for Allie. We are so proud that you are our son! We love you Corbin!

Skating Party!

Today, we went to Austin's birthday party at the skating rink. I had not been to the skating rink since my middle school years. It hasn't changed a lot! This was the first time my kids have been skating. They fell a lot! But they had a lot of fun! Toward the end of the party, they starting picking up on it. They seemed to really like it! Allie said that her butt was sore from falling too much!

Life-size Allie

I usually have to stay after school anywhere from 30 minutes to 1 hour. Since my kids ride the bus from their elementary school to mine, they have to find something to do to keep themselves from getting bored. Allie and her friend Hannah(another teacher's kid) got creative. Allie laid down on this white, and Hannah traced her. Then they colored it it. I was so proud of them! What creative girls!

Little Ballerina

Allie takes ballet on Wednesday right after school. It is a rush to get to the studio and changed by 4. But somehow, we manage. She loves it! There is a big cat that lives there. Corbin would not leave it alone. When it finally got away, it hid!

Saying Goodbye to Mrs. Rayborn

TOday was a sad day. One of my fellow teachers resigned because of her mother's illness. Today was her last day. I know her students will miss her dearly. The
7th grade teachers got together and brought lunch. She was surprised and grateful. I hope we still remain friends. I am going to miss her "Katie" getting off the bus and walking to her classroom.

Rainy Sunday

Today was a rainy Sunday in Tennessee. I had to get a picture of Allie with her Hannah Montana umbrella. She told Corbin he could get under it. He doesn't look overjoyed! He usually wants to run and play in the rain. Boys!

Upward cheering continued

Upward basketball and cheerleading

This is Corbin's 2nd year playing Upward basketball. I am so proud of him. He seems to really know what to do this year. He has scored in both of the first 2 games. Allie loves to cheer. They are so cute when they do a cheer at half time. We are blessed to have 2 wonderful coaches, as well.

Ava's Birthday Party

Today, we went to Miss Ava's birthday party. Ava is my brother Chad's little girl. She is three years old! She is little and petite. The party was at The Little Gym. I was concerned it might be a little boring for the big kids. But, they had a lot of fun!
